MIS Sets Itself Forward on Its Educational Thrust

Construction is to building as education is to life.

The months of April and May are busy months for the whole Maharlikan family.

Foremost, they have the annual enrichment program which caters to the educational needs of young learners in areas like Mathematics, English and Computer Literacy. This program is envisioned to prepare learners for the challenges of the incoming school year while taking into consideration what was missed out on the previous year.  Aside from the early cultivation of the love of learning, students can also interact more closely to their teachers given their limited number. Students from other schools were also warmly integrated and introduced to their Maharlikan counterparts. This is a proactive thinking program as developed and implemented by the Executive Director of Maharlika International School.

In response to the growing Maharlikan population particularly its inclusion of grade 9 this incoming school year 2015-2016, a new school building is under construction which will house three additional classrooms. It is adjacent to the existing school building housing 4 classrooms and 1 computer laboratory.  An open area paved with footstones between these buildings will serve as a parking lot and a multi-function place for future school activities.

Finally, new facilities will also welcome parents and students as the basketball court is having its much-needed repair and rehabilitation. Additional restrooms are also being built to answer the needs of the students. Much so, the classrooms which housed Grades 1-Grade 3 are being repainted to lighten up its interior.

The Executive Director says there will be more improvements as the years will come for the Maharlikan family. “We will take it one step at a time, but definitely we will give our best through God’s help and intervention”, Mr. Papay stated. These improvements are reflections of MIS’ commitment in giving back to its most valued partners in the lifetime goal of education; parents and students alike

2021 Graduation, Moving-Up and Recognition Message from the Founder & Executive Director

T oday is a joyous day amidst these trying times! Please allow me to express my utmost  gratitude to everyone and my warmest felicitations too on this remarkable day! The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has brought drastic changes not only in East Timor but the entire world. It has created challenges and difficulties in the society that we live. Many aspects of our lives have been greatly affected and in this context, the educational process of the human person. Educational institutions were not spared. We have seen over the year the changes that everyone has to adapt in the light of elucidation and of progress. Classes were modified to comply with the protocols and guidelines of the government, health and education authorities; and due to lockdowns declared by the government, the teaching-learning processes were reformed. During the remaining two (2) months of the Academic Year 2020-2021, our students stayed and learned in their homes while their teachers taught in their own places. Tech
